These case studies of efforts in democracy promotion were produced by students at the University of Virginia as a class assignment for a senior seminar. We are grateful to the German Marshal Fund Balkan Trust for Democracy for opening their grant files to this experimental effort. Our hope is to both expose these students and young leaders to a bit more of the world around them, and to share those lessons with anyone who might find value in them.
